Bound… for where?

To be chained on a vessel
The saddest sight; free to the wind
And the waves, flights of fancy but a trifle
And yet stayed.
Stayed by irrational fear,
That world that we see cowing us
Before our very own eyes.
If the ocean is the size of our hearts,
Then our minds and our fears are that vessel,
And the chains…
Those are our society.
Our defence mechanism against the night.
